Summer camp for students participating in LAAP training programmes

From 24 to 27 July 2026, the annual camp for students participating in LAAP training programmes took place in Bradeliškės. This time, four students from Latvia also attended. The theme of this year’s camp was: Significance of Myths and Rituals: Reflecting on the Possibility of Transformation. 

Prof. Gražina Gudaitė, Chair of the LAAP Training Committee, at the opening of the camp emphasized that rituals help us discover ways to free ourselves from the captivity of unconscious, prevent us from being overwhelmed by archaic energies, provide an opportunity for energy transformation, help deepen our sense of being, foster maturity and lead to growth.

LAAP analysts Mindaugas Radušis, Eglė Beinorienė, Elona Lovčikienė, Rugilė Vilkišė and Kamilė Butkevičiūtė explored the connections between various rituals (such as baptism, weddings, dances, the myth of the Holy Grail) and ideas from analytical psychology. The presentations were followed by a screening of Giedrė Beinoriūtė’s documentary film ‘Sacrum and Profanum in Pievėnai’. Reflection groups were held, moderated by analysts Andžela Rybakovienė, Lina Gudaitienė and Dalia Beniušytė.

This year, we were visited by dear guests from Ukraine at our camp. LAAP members Valentyna Samus and Olena Soloviova spoke about mythodrama and their work with children and teenagers living through war. They also led a mythodrama workshop for LAAP training students.

The rituals of sharing food, songs, music, dancing and swimming in the river were no less important at the camp. 

The graduates of various stages of their studies this year were acknowledged at the camp. Some were presented with their diplomas at the camp, while others had received them earlier this year.
